Cost of training

Operating an aircraft is expensive. It follows that the bulk of your investment in gaining a pilot’s licence will depend on the number of flight training hours required to pass your skills test. The PPL and LAPL courses have a minimum requirement of 45 and 30 flight training hours respectively – this only realistically allows for each exercise to be covered once, so it is no suprise that students will often exceed this minimum requirement by a significant margin. However, by understanding these factors you have more control over the overall cost of your course than you realise.
