Take full control of a light aircraft under the supervision of one of our experienced flying instructors. This is a bone-fide flying lesson and not just a pleasure flight – the participant will get plenty of hands on flying opportunity! Our trial flying lessons are designed for aspiring pilots and count towards the award of a flight crew licence.
Trial flying lessons are for one person only and unfortunately we are unable to accommodate any passengers or observers aboard the aircraft.

Overall duration: 30 mins including up to 15 mins taxi and at least 15 mins airborne.
Flight time: The legal definition of flight time is from when the aircraft moves for the purposes of flight until it comes to a stop post-flight; i.e. taxi time plus airborne time. Official, recordable flight time for our trial flying lessons is 30 minutes total, which includes 15 minutes taxi time.
Weight limit: 18 stone / 115 Kg
Age restrictions: 14+
Your experience will be delivered in the form of a voucher which is valid for 12 months. Vouchers are issued electronically by email. Redemption instructions and directions to our venue are all included.
The experience will consist of:
A pre-flight briefing with your instructor who will discuss your route and introduce the aircraft and it's controls.
During your flight you will take full hands-on control of the aircraft under the supervision of your flying instructor. You will learn to taxi the aircraft on the ground and fly it around the local area.

| Health restrictions | Participants must be agile enough to board and disembark the aircraft, and to be able to freely manipulate the controls. If you are unsure about whether your health is an issue then please contact the flying school prior to purchasing your voucher. |
| Friends & family | There are first-class visitor facilities at Hawarden, including the Chocks Away diner, viewing park with children's playground, public conveniences and free parking. Unfortunately observers / passengers are not permitted on trial flying lessons without specific authorisation. |
| Location | Merseyflight are based at Hawarden (Chester) airport. You will receive directions both with your voucher and by email when booking. Free parking is available at the venue. |
| Validity | Vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of purchase. Voucher extensions are available on request and subject to an additional fee. |

| Weather restrictions | Please contact us before you set off on the day of your flight. If the flight is likely to be affected by weather then we will attempt to contact you at least one hour before your flight. |
| What should I wear? | Comfortable clothes and flat shoes. The aircraft have heaters for the cold season but generally the temperature in the air during your lesson is similar to that on the ground. |
| Photographs | Trial flying lessons are bone-fide training flights and as such you will be required to spend most of your time under instruction and manipulating the controls of the aircraft. We have found from experience that participants have too much to think about without trying to get the perfect snap! This is why we offer the 360º video option which allows you to live your experience in the moment whilst we take care of the memories. |
| 360 Degree video | Available to buy. This is a fantastic addition which will allow you to re-live your flight from any angle! Please let us know if you wish to have your flight recorded prior to departure. |
| Flight time | Flight time is officially from brakes off to brakes on. Approximately 10 to 15 minutes of your experience will be taxying the aircraft. Flight times are subject to air trafiic movements and do vary. |
